House Plant

This texture rich piece is a hug for our forgotten houseplants. In the summer months we get busy, nearly forgetting about our little potted friends. It depicts arms lovingly wrapped around a potted plant. But who is hugging who? Late fall, when the leaves brown and the soil freezes we watch our greenery disappear, the sunshine barely visits and the cold burrows in our bones. Thoughts of spring cross our mind but it seems impossibly far away. A happy house plant is a symbol of the warmth and regrowth to come. It is the reminder we need that the ground will thaw and our gardens will once again flourish.
