Installations

Installations are anything and everything. Is it a sculpture? Sure. A pile of rubbish? To some. To me it's an opportunity to take ordinary items and moments, string them together in a way that highlights a beauty often taken for granted. Overlooked objects become beautiful living beings. A shared experience we forgot we had in common. We are in this together.

Bittersweet — Delightfully Irritating

Night of Art, Niagara Falls — 2025

Is the grass really greener. I think it is. But I hesitate to run barefoot. What a life. The ride uphill is hard, maybe impossible but what a thrill it is to go back down. Road bump or speed booster? Harsh lighting brings out every insecurity. Last week my neon shoes were "a little too flashy" for the lady at check out. This week she started painting her nails hot pink. Always accept the compliment. Mom you should be embarrassed your car is filthy. So is the hand of an unknown artist who drew flowers and hearts all over my windshield. We follow the rainbow looking for treasure at the end. The sky clears up before we can find it. In every museum of lost socks there is the perfect puppet. A mosquito is a welcome guest in the web of a spider. Have you ever played 52 pick up? We thank the bees for the flowers perhaps it's compensation for their wicked stings. Is there an irritation that comes without delight? It's not black or white or grey. It's messy and colourful. Some might say bittersweet. Irritating, sure. But most definitely delightful.

An interactive installation of free standing structures including the Museum of Lost Socks, a dandelion garden, a top secret diary, ish sticks of measure, and a collection of doo dadas that may or may not be considered delightfully irritating.

To Be a Fly

Night of Art, Niagara Falls — 2024

"If I were a fly I would take it all in. I'd have 15 to 28 days if I was lucky.. but that could never be enough. I would see all of life's efforts that are often unnoticed. I'd float across waves of sounds and feel every note. I would taste everything I could no matter the risk. If I were a fly I wouldn't hold back."

An interactive piece featuring 15 house flies, each one representing a day in a fly's short but curious existence. Through scale, texture and movement, experience an alternate perspective to yourself and the world around you.

Interference

Supercrawl, Hamilton — 2024

In our ever changing landscape, we impact the natural rhythms of our soil and wildlife. Although it is not always intentional, we dance with extremes in weather, disrupt migration, and alter cycles of growth. The observer is invited to cause a disruption by interfering with the position and movement of the elements.

Field Door

Cicada Festival — 2024

Field Door — Cicada Festival 2024

A fully functional door, installed in the middle of an open festival field. No wall. No building. Just a door — interrupting the natural flow of people moving between stages, asking them to stop, look, and decide whether to walk through it.

The sides were built up in flowing shapes, and the whole structure was live painted across multiple days of the festival — changing and evolving throughout. It ended up with a large bird on it, very hippy and vibrant and beautiful. It was cool.

The Visitor

Vibrant Beginnings, Night of Art, Niagara Falls — 2023

"Like a waterway, cityscape, or dance, we are all visitors here. We are the swirling vibrance that is Niagara."

A pathway installation celebrating Niagara's depth of connection and beauty. Nature and city in contrast. Soft moss and agriculture against unapologetic graffiti. Disco balls reflecting the surroundings in a near magical shimmer. The visitor sees themselves as part of Niagara's beautiful existence.
